Hawaii Natural Energy Institute, University of Hawaii

The Hawaii Natural Energy Institute is located at the University of Hawaii (1680 East-West Rd University of Hawaii Honolulu, HI 96822 USA).  

The team of twelve uses fundamental chemical engineering knowledge to improve the efficiency and speed of biomass carbonization processes with the goal of producing biocarbons that can compete in the commercial marketplace. 
They supply biocarbons to industry and universities and have over 100 published studies.
