IBI Sends Comments to UK Parliament on House of Commons Library Note, "Biochar and Climate Change"

The International Biochar Initiative has delivered comments to the UK Parliament on a note from the House of Commons Library entitled, “Biochar and Climate Change.”

The ten page IBI letter is a fully referenced document that assesses the current state of biochar research and development. IBI is making the letter available to the public as a valuable summary of biochar science. We hope that all those with an interest in biochar, including policy makers and members of the press, will find this document helpful in assessing of the value of biochar as tool for restoring soil productivity and sequestering carbon. Biochar for Environmental Management: book published 2009

This all encompassing book on biochar, Biochar for Environmental Management, is edited by IBI Board members Johannes Lehmann and Stephen Joseph. The volume explores a diverse set of aspects needed to advance the application of biochar for environmental management. Authors with expertise in the basic sciences as well as economics, marketing and policy summarize our current knowledge and provide a roadmap for future research and development of biochar.
