International Biochar Initiative – Biochar Study Tour

Stockholm Biochar Project

October 9-11, 2017

Our June webinar presented a tantalizing look at one of the world's first urban pilot projects converting green waste into heat for district heating and biochar for urban and residential landscaping use.  Several members inquired about visiting the project to learn more with an eye towards replicating this project elsewhere.  IBI has worked with Mattias Gustafsson, the Project Manager and Bjorn Embren, Stockholm's Tree Officer to put together a 2½ day program that will provide attendees with much more depth on the project.  Additional presentations by regional experts in biochar and biochar production technologies are being added to take full advantage of the many advances in biochar production and use in Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
