The Department of Earth Science at Rice University is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position to study physical hydrology, biochar, and soils. The candidate will contribute to a project studying how soil hydrologic processes are impacted by physical and chemical interactions between soils, biochar, and fluids. The scope of the project has basic science (e.g., hydrologic properties) and applied science (e.g., carbon sequestration) aspects. The postdoctoral position will also provide opportunities for the candidate to develop independent research activities. A Ph.D. in geology, civil engineering, soil science, or related field is required at the time of appointment. This is a one-year, full-time, benefits-eligible position with future years contingent upon performance and funding.
