This upcoming book on biochar is an effort of the International Biochar Initiative and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2008. It is edited by IBI Steering and Advisory Committee members Johannes Lehman and Stephen Joseph. The volume will explore a diverse set of aspects needed to advance the application of biochar for environmental management. Authors with expertise in the basic sciences as well as economics, marketing and policy will summarize our current knowledge and provide a roadmap for future research and development of biochar.
The volume will be published by Earthscan Publishers Ltd (ISBN 978-1-84407-658-1; http://www.earthscan.co.uk/) and is anticipated to be available in print by early 2009.
The listed table of contents show preliminary chapter titles and current senior authors who have agreed to lead an international team of co-authors.
