University of Toronto Mississauga Department of Geography

The University of Toronto Mississauga Department of Geography has a relatively new research program on biochar focusing on biochar-bioenergy systems in mixed-deciduous Ontario forests.  Current projects by the staff of nine focus on production of biochar, use of biochar for soil quality improvement, use of biochar for soil C sequestration, characterization of biochar, and commercial aspects of biochar.
