The Soils and Plant Nutrition Department at the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka is located in Dartonfield Agalawatta Sri Lanka. The team of four started biochar research in 2009 with the objective to evaluate the potential of land application of biochar to enhance soil fertility in rubber plantations of Sri Lanka and climate change mitigation. The initial trials conducted have used rubberwood biochar: click here for a highlighted trial.
